Alone Together  out of the shadows
by CompassionAndPeace.org
ISBN: 978-1-926863-01-6

The book started as a thought which over the course of a year, progressed quickly into a vision and has now become a reality. It is about our young people of today, who are our adults of tomorrow, coming “out of the shadows” and being vulnerable in expressing their raw true feelings in creative thoughts and writings.

I was deeply touched and inspired by their courage to speak up about their pain and suffering.   I hope that this will in turn give others that same inspiration, to be their own unique self, regardless of how they look, speak, act or dress and be accepted in society as an equal.

Faces of Opportunity
ISBN: 978-1-897412-60-2

Faces of Opportunity compiles the stories of twenty women and men who began their journey out of chronic poverty with a small loan. One enterprising Ugandan bought a sewing machine and began a tailoring business. A mother in Indonesia bought 1,000 coconuts and sold the distilled oil. Each story is as different as the personality and context of the individual -- yet they point to a common hope.

Patron Challenge...The Patron Challenge presents a new opportunity to encourage more Canadians to support microfinance and to share Opportunity’s work with a broader audience. Through your gift, you will increase our capacity to make this captivating book available to as many people as possible...

Opportunity International Canada provides opportunities for people in chronic poverty to improve their lives.

      Chalk, Challenge and Change
ISBN: 1-897144-98-9

Stories gathered from senior members of the Retired Women Teachers of Ontario capture the heritage and history of classrooms across the province from 1920 to 1979. Our storytellers are all over 90 years of age – some over 100, and their stories take us into the classrooms of the past. These as-told-by stories are about hiring and firing, struggles and celebrations, and the rewards of teaching under conditions that were often challenging. The ladies have shared their precious vintage photos that add another dimension to the book. In celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the RWTO, this book honours the teachers who have dedicated so many years of their lives to educating the young people of Ontario.
